the bob

Lea finds comfort in pattern and routine. When on an incredibly rare impulse she decides to cut her hair to surprise her otherwise facetious sister, her life takes a turn for the horrific when she learns that no one in her life ever recalls her having a different haircut. As all that Lea knows to be true about her life rapidly begins to unravel, she is forced to confront her personal relationship to sex, loneliness, and autonomy. Loosely based on Emmanuel Carrère’s La Moustache, The Bob explores the thin margin between a woman’s inextricable need for independence and what’s left when desire still remains.
